We are a seasonal business using organic principals to grow BEEF, PORK, CHICKEN, TURKEY, DUCK, GOOSE and HONEY.  Unlike large scale conventional farming where animals are grown in gigantic barns, where product can be grown consistently through out the year, pasture based farming relies on the spring, summer and fall growing season to provide fresh green grass.

Grass fed meat is very lean – Extra Extra Lean, and animals raised on pasture, have a finer texture, are raised longer and have a unique taste!  Grass fed beef also has 50% LESS saturated fat than conventional feedlot beef, but more vitamin E, beta carotene and vitamin C. Pasturered meat offers a good source of Omega 3 fatty acids and less cholesterol, a less risky choice to celiac suffers (gluten or wheat allergy) and has good cancer fighting CLA’s that minimize free radicals.

We do feed all our animals a little mixed grain in order to provide them with kelp, the sea weed, full of good nutrients that act as a proactive approch to health and shell flour that reduces paracites naturally. Our beef cattle receive only approximatly 1 cup of mixed grain per week, containing kelp, mineral and shell flour.

All the grain we purchase is grown organically by a few farmers in Grey County.  We make our living selling locally and we try to do the same when purchasing.

To us, every dollar we spend is a decision.

We purchase, where possible, feed, animals, straw, pasture seed, and minerals from local farmers or suppliers.  Our supplier in Elmira, Ontario is located the farthest from our Farm, meeting the needs of our entire operation within 200 kms.

All of our meat is processed at a few local abattoirs that we are proud to support.  They work very hard to offer custom butchering and they take into consideration our special needs.  They respect the choices we have made in growing the animals using organic principals and they make accommodations to ensure the integrity and quality of our meat is maintained.

Our order is the first to be processed; ensuring tables, knives and equipment are free from any contact with conventionally grown meat.  They also make sausage and beef burgers using only our meat and a few spices, NO filler  or wheat is added, making them a good choice for celiac or wheat allergy suffers.

We sell our beef & pork by the packaged pound, not the hanging weight of the animal.  If you purchase meat by the hanging weight, you are paying for approximately 25 to 30 % waste, like bones, gristle or unusable parts that are discarded to get to the final cut & wrapped weight.

We offer various cuts of meat, custom butchering, or a Farm Share (Meat CSA), Local Meat Samplers, Beef or Pork Samplers (20lb to 200lbs), quarter, side or whole animals, and of course, custom orders.  We also sell directly to restaurants, or retail locations.

Packaged frozen meats can be purchased at the farm during June to December.  Large orders of 150 pounds or more include custom cutting so you can have your beef, or pork butchered to your specific needs.  Chicken and Turkey are offered fresh the day they are processed, so we advise that you pre order as we sell out quickly.
